The Top Menu

There are many tools that Photoshop has to offer. The quickest way to access tools is by clicking on the window icon in the top-right corner of the image window. The window should be half as wide as your monitor resolution and as tall as your monitor resolution if you plan to have the window open full-screen.

To view a menu of all the tools available in Photoshop, scroll over the window icon, as shown in the figure below, and click on the small menu that appears.

It is possible to do this on a single screen, but it’s more efficient to use all of your monitors by making the window as wide as your monitors. Alternatively, you can spread the window out into 3 or 4 monitor spaces.

The Photoshop Interface

The layer-based editing system and the familiar interface are what make Photoshop the most popular image editing tool. Admittedly, it can be tough to learn, but the interface helps with this.

Making the top layer

To start, click on the small circle at the top-right corner. This will make the current layer the “active” layer.

To access the entire collection of layers, click on the rectangle that looks like a box. You will now see the layers appear. This collection of layers is the Layers palette, as shown in the figure below.

The layers palette is the place you go to access all of Photoshop’s tools, including moving the layers and making selections. You will have to learn how to use these tools, but they can certainly save you a lot of time in complicated projects.

You can move layers easily by clicking on them with the left mouse. The drag handles on a layer appear when you move them.

You can drag a layer off of the picture to make a new layer. This makes it easy to copy and paste photos, as you will see in another tutorial.

You can also drag a layer up above the layers to temporarily hide it from view, and then drag it back into the layers palette to restore it.

As shown in the figure below, a darkened layer can be dragged upward to hide it from view. You can then drag the layer back down to make it reappear in the layers palette.

I have an error when populating table view

Can anyone help, I have the following error, while trying to display.

What’s New in the?

Action Bar in all activities

I am trying to follow the official android action bar tutorial.
I have build the following new activity with the following code.

I have followed all the steps in the official tutorial, added the actionbar activity in the manifest file, added the styles, etc.
But the Action Bar does not appear when running the application.
If I run the app I get a button but it doesn’t have the actionbar as expected.
When I press the button it doesn’t do anything.
What am I doing wrong?

You are missing the actionbar style in your style in styles.xml
