7. Open the Brush panel and choose a preset brush from the list of brushes. Your brush options are shown in Figure 11-12.

You can change the brushes you see by selecting a preset brush type from the Preset Brush drop-down list (refer to Figure 11-12) and then clicking the Clear Brush button.

The Sample Brush settings explain that the Brush tip is a soft, smooth round point, and the Pressure sensitivity setting adjusts how sensitive the brush is to pressure.

8. Click the Brush tool again, and then hold down the Shift key while you drag over the photo area you want to paint.

As you drag, the new area of color appears over the unedited image. With the brush selected, you can customize your brush settings if you like by accessing the Settings button or by selecting the menu shown in Figure 11-13.

9. Press and hold the Shift key to paint over the image, or release the key and keep the Shift key down while you drag.

Press the Shift key to paint over existing image areas and to maintain the size and shape of your brush.

You can mix paint colors in a brush by pressing the Intersect button or by pressing Control and clicking the color you want to use.

10. If you make changes to the brush settings, press the Options button or select Settings from the Tools panel menu.

Figure 11-14 shows an example of where you want to alter the brush settings.

Photoshop lets you create brushes to draw over the image or to fill with color. You can access most of the features of a brush by using the Brush panel as well.

11. After you finish painting, press Command-Z to undo the action. If you want to keep the painting, press the Delete key.

1. Importing Your Image File

What file types can Photoshop Elements open?

You can get your RAW files on your computer in one of two ways. You can either upload them directly to Photoshop Elements or you can save them to your computer first, then drag them into Photoshop Elements.

The important thing is that the file type in Photoshop Elements matches the format of your RAW file.

If it’s a.dng file, for example, you need to have Photoshop Elements set to open files of the.dng format.

If your RAW file is in TIFF format, you’ll need Photoshop Elements set to open TIFF files.

Otherwise, if the file type isn’t included in the list, you’ll need to select [Import] > [Open], and then select the

Camera App displays the incorrect name of a directory

When creating a new folder in my SD card under a directory I created (name of the folder is “Pictures”), the “Camera App” displays the incorrect name for the directory; the actual name of the directory is “Pictures”. “Camera App” displays the name as “Your Music”, “My Pictures”, and so on.
It seems like the Camera App doesn’t actually see the correct directory name. If I open the directory through the “Computer” application, it displays the correct name of the directory.

There are some ways to fix the problem.
Method 1:
Open “Camera” application from the main menu and uncheck the “Use USB connection”.
Method 2:
Use the Nautilus shell to access files (it is the default file manager which comes with Ubuntu).
Method 3:
Install the “Rescore” application from the Ubuntu Software Center.
Rescore has a feature which ignores all existing tags on a directory and recovers the directory name from a directory’s first character.
It says it can recover any tag name on a directory.
