COVID-19 has had great impacts to the education sector around the world.
Education is a weapon for good in one's life and to a whole country. It has the power to change a person's life and allows countries to compete in globally which will eventually increase their economy. Students, parents, and governments invest in education to improve their status.
However, pts terbaik sumatera the unexpected COVID-19 outbreak has resulted in dramatic changes in education.
The high number of people infected with COVID-19 forced schools to suspend classes as social distancing is highly recommended to stop the spread of the disease.People were asked to stay home as the virus can be easily transmitted through close contact with infected people. To make the matter worse, some infectious individuals don't manifest symptoms making it difficult to tell who has the virus.
Education was stopped for months but with the continued threat the corona virus is causing, the education sector and governments has to establish alternatives to continue education during the period of necessary social distancing. The most common alternative solution being implemented is using technology particularly computers and internet connection which take education to digital platforms with online classes or e-learning.
Clearly this innovation of educational systems is rapid and risk-taking as it is experimental.Teachers have limited trainings to facilitate online classes and students are unused of this new learning system which might caused them to be uncomfortable or have less motivation.
This new method of learning gives students control over their studies.
It allows them flexibility of their study schedules giving them more responsibility. E-learning requires students to be well-organized, more disciplined, self-motivated, and has good time management in order to keep up with the pace of the course. This method of learning is effective for mature students and a challenge to the young ones (grade school to secondary school age) as they easily get distracted.
It needs collaboration between their teachers and parents to guide young children in online learning.
Preparedness is important for the success of the online class program. Teachers must be competent enough to create a comfortable virtual classroom to keep their students interested.Traditional teaching methods in classrooms might not work well in online classes therefore curricula must be carefully considered and develop to further the success of online teaching.
Online class or e-learning has a potential to work well for children who has access to computers and internet access.
However, this causes significant disadvantage for children who lack the necessary resources causing limited opportunities for them to pursue their studies in the midst of crisis. This means that the lives of students whose parents cannot afford devices and online connectivity are disrupted more by the COVID-19 pandemic compared to the children who have the resources.
A majority of the students in developing countries don't have their own computers or internet connection. Some of these countries are implementing modular learning system which uses printed modules or instructional materials for their students to study at home. The problem with this system is that parents will take the responsibility of teaching their children about the course. Unfortunately, many parents from low-income families have little education making them unable to teach their children.
The COVID-19 pandemic makes us step outside our comfort zone.
Teachers, students, parents, and governments have to adopt with change as it is necessary to continue progressing. The outbreak almost made the world stop but we know that we need to continue finding solution to the problem in order to survive.
The changes COVID-19 have caused might be here to stay forever so we need to innovate and create a resilient world.
