Avatar: The Final Airbender is often considered among the finest animated sequence of all time. The show centers across the mythology that those who can manipulate all of the 4 elements – water, earth, fireplace, air – can create harmony between the four nations of the world. Twelve-yr-old Aang is the present Avatar and takes the journey to end the Fire Nation’s war with the other nations.

The two little one actors are excellent, with Leandersson projecting an otherworldliness and weariness far beyond her years. Credit can be due to the English-language remake by director Matt Reeves, who stayed largely faithful to the original whereas tweaking its meaning slightly (his actors, Chloe Moretz and Kodi Smit-McPhee, are effective if not quite pretty much as good because the Swedish cast).
