A Mayfair mansion that once belonged to famous Victorian prostitute Catherine Walters has become available to rent from £5,000 per week.
Originally the home of ‘s top earning courtesan, the five bedroom townhouse at 15 South Street offers 4,032 square feet of living space with a private garage and roof terrace, not to mention a coveted Blue Plaque on the house.
Nicknamed ‘Skittles’ for her ability to bowl over men, Catherine was the most famous escort of the Victorian and Edwardian eras and was said to have entertained King Edward VII, Spencer Cavendish, Emperor Napoleon III and poet Wilfrid Scawen Blunt.
