In fact, I can’t remember playing a fighting game on my iPad. I’d also considered the many RPG games that appeared on the App Store, such as Final Fantasy games. I am a gigantic fan of the Final Fantasy franchise, so I was quite intrigued by this title.I recently fired up an app to play, and I have to admit I almost didn’t know what to expect. The 3D graphics are certainly impressive, although less than I’d hoped. The characters are great, and the environments are lush and well drawn. There isn’t much noise in the background. So the graphics are not in question, and the draw distance is actually fairly long. There are a variety of enemies in this game, including a few different types of dragon. The environments themselves are really quite impressive. You are presented with complete vistas of real environments; it is not something just made up. The music is very reminiscent of Final Fantasy, although it is quite distant from most other music I’ve heard in any game. The sound effects are rich and varied. The touch controls on the map screen are very intuitive and enable me to execute very basic moves, which are the equivalent of push or pull. The combat uses a touch screen, which is probably not the best way to operate, but I can see why the game used this method. I do prefer to use a controller, but I can understand the point of view of having touch controls. It would be perfect for the smaller screens.The story of Sigfrien is fairly simplistic, but it is told in an interesting way. At first, I didn’t see the point of the story. Sure, I get it and I like that kind of thing, but I was put off by it. The story develops over time.
