I have been using this game for about three weeks now and I have been impressed with the level of the gameplay and the speed of the leveling process. RecyclerView with play services doesn’t render when user scrolls

I’m following the official docs on using play services with recyclerview. I’m using an FusedLocationApi to get the current location and when the user gets close to a View the app will start geo tracking the user.
The problem I’m running into is when I start the location updates it will start tracking the user but at the same time the adapter call will be sent which I’m guessing is because the user is scrolling in the recycler view. What I want is to be able to do user tracking but not be able to start the gps while the user is scrolling or moving.
I have tried setting the onScrollStateChanged in the activity but that’s not being called. I have also tried adding state changes to the on location change using the LocationManagerCompat but that didn’t do anything.
I would really appreciate any help or direction that could be given. I’m at a complete loss at this point.

This is a known bug since Play Services v5.22, which was a pretty recent update. The bug is filed at:

I have an assembly that gets referenced from our web apps. The xml-based settings are in each web app separately, and I use ConfigurationManager.AppSettings to get the settings from the configuration file at runtime.
We have changed it to database-backed settings now, and have moved the files to one location, but when I do the following:
Web.config and App.config files are moved to a different location (and renamed to config.example.com.config, for example)

Remove the contents of App.config and Web.config

Replace the contents of Web.config and App.config with the new configuration file
