Create better images in Photoshop Elements

You can use Photoshop Elements to improve digital photos. With some tweaks, you can enhance an image.

And the best thing is that you can create these edits with different adjustments.

How to improve the colors in an image

First, select the image you want to edit and place it on a new layer.

Then, select Levels and click on the button as shown in the image below.

Note: This method will work with all images but sometimes the image you have selected may be too bright and contrast-y so you will need to make some adjustments.

Adjust the levels by selecting the left and right handles until the image looks good.

How to improve images using curves

You can use the Curves adjustment to create new images using adjustments like Brightness/Contrast, Hue/Saturation, Sharpen and etc.

The curve is like a sine wave that reduces the high and low pixels.

First, select the image you want to edit and place it on a new layer.

Then, select the Rectangular Selection tool (the blue cross) and drag over the image.

Once selected, place the new layer under the image you want to edit.

Select the curves tool from the tools pallet as shown in the figure above.

Then click on the right side of the tool as shown in the figure above.

You will see a curve which shows a three point curve, a horizontal line on the curve and a vertical line on the curve.

The curve will adapt to the color of the pixels so that the curve doesn’t look flat.

On the right side, you will see a hand icon which allows you to add a gray shade to the curve.

You can also add a color by clicking on the left side of the hand icon as shown in the figure below.

You can also click on the right side of the hands icon to adjust the curve to the selected color.

Click on the options bar as shown in the figure below and select the appropriate tool to select the curve.

Click on the curves tool once again.

Repeat the process shown above to apply the curves to the image.

Click on the Edit button on the options bar.

Harper says he hopes the poster would inspire students to question the reasons for war. “I think that a lot of people, including me, are confused when they hear about the war on terror,” he said. “I know that it’s unclear to me why we go to war. Because of the lives that were lost in Afghanistan, I feel that we need to shed light on what the military’s reason for going to war really is. Pat Tillman gave his life for a terrorist, not for America. He was a hero for a terrorist. We need to recognize that.”
