In every futuristic vision there are robots. Robots have been an integral part of our future visions, from the Jetsons to Terminator. No technology article would be complete without robotics. The Japanese Ministry of Trade and Industry (METI), a few years ago, outlined a plan to bring intelligent robots into the world by 2015.

My Environmental Sociology class requires students to keep journals on two kinds of experiences. One is when they are completely disconnected from technology, and the other is when they spend 6 hours in nature alone, without any cell phones or iPods. Their reactions to these types of experiences are both startlingly profound and surprisingly life changing, but in actuality, life-enhancing. I will share their experiences with technology-free times in this article.

We have only scratched the surface of what nanotechnology can do for us. Many nanotechnology applications are available in research and development. I, Robot society is a culture that has grown accustomed to robots taking over all the tasks we don’t want. Robots are restricted by rules to protect humanity until they turn on humanity. V.I.K.I is the central brain’ of the robotics and has determined that humanity cannot care for itself.

While my potential technology may sound a bit idyllic at first, it is similar to MIT’s Wear Ur World. The WUW is a perfect example of potential future technology, very much inspiring my own tale. The MIT Media Lab designed the WUW. Known simply as ‘Sixth Sense,’ the wearer uses a small projection device, a webcam, and a cell phone. This allows you to convert any flat surface into a pastel computer backgrounds.

Think about the way we communicated before the internet. If I wanted to send a newsletter to all my clients, that meant I had write it, print it, then mail it. I know because we did it that way for over 10 years. Man makes use of his mind to create technology. The reverse is true. Technology can be used to help man develop his mind. In a nutshell it is the mind which develops technology. The technology then assists in further developing the mind.

Hydrogen fuel technology is spreading fast around the globe. People are tired of paying ridiculous gas prices. Also, there are some places in the USA where workers who are unemployed may lose their unemployment benefits. Although hydrogen technology is only in its beginning stages, the USA is already showing great promise.

The DSM technology took this one step further, putting the entire system on a digital playing field. Digital technology provided greater security for the transmission and reception of data. Digital allows you to control RC model technology with the greatest degree of precision and security.
