Demand recovery: Around 3.6m people booked flights with Wizz Air in April, compared to 564,600 in the same period last year and just 78,400 in April 2020<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
It means the number of passengers who have flown with the airline in the past 12 months has more than doubled year-on-year to 38million.<\/p>\n
As well as benefiting from the loosening of international travel restrictions, the London-listed company has taken the opportunity to significantly expand its operations across Europe.<\/p>\n
Wizz Air launched a new base at Cardiff Airport, its fourth in the UK, alongside London Luton, Gatwick and Doncaster Sheffield airports, which it predicts will increase capacity by over 330,000 seats.<\/p>\n
