Health Secretary tonight ruled out any delay to the April tax grab for the , despite growing calls to delay the controversial rise.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Mr Javid insisted the national insurance hike \u2014 which will strip the average family of \u00a3600 a year \u2014 was not ‘under threat’.\u00a0<\/p>\n
He re-iterated his support for the increase, which will bring in an extra \u00a312billion for the NHS and social care.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Mr Javid told the Commons’ Health and Social Care Committee the extra funds were ‘important’ to help hospitals clear waiting lists, which have spiralled to record highs because of Covid.\u00a0<\/p>\n
