IN THE EARLY DAYS of Divinity: Original Sin 2, we considered having a theater mode like the one that would eventually be implemented in Divinity: Original Sin Enhanced Edition (D:OSe), which plays a central role in the story, but was never implemented in the first Divinity: Original Sin.
\nThis time, we decided to go with a completely different idea. We actually made something that we were sure to have fun playing, like the Theater Mode from the Elder Scrolls games, and also got a feel of how to work on our game (like what we can do, what kind of editor we need, and some more).
\nThis new idea was not an exactly like a theater mode, but still a kind of mode that would be easy to play and equally as fun. It really helps a lot when you’re playing a game as a spectator too, because it provides a context for what’s happening on the game screen, and you can still get the fun of watching someone else play the game, but in a new dimension.
\nSo… Who’s watching you?<\/p>\n

From the soundtrack to the artwork, to the scripting, to the gameplay system.
\nThe whole process of making a game is complicated and time consuming. But the D:OSe team was more than prepared to face this challenge, and has succeeded in providing a unique experience to our players.<\/p>\n

That’s right, the artworks were created by Mielkie, a member of our team who was born in 1994, and was playing the Divinity games since they first appeared.
\nHe has about 20 years of game development experience, including working in RPG games, and he provided the perfect artistic touch to the game. We consider this to be his first true gaming experience as an artist.<\/p>\n

From the way the game was designed to the implementation of the artworks, Mielkie was able to bring his unique and playful style to the game.
\nAlthough this sounds like an excuse, you should know that Mielkie’s artworks actually leave a very strong impression on the game’s design.
\nThe game’s theme is very different from the theme of the similar game that previously appeared on PC, and we believe that these artworks<\/p>\n
