\nAt the moment it supports Active socket connections over TCP and UDP protocols.
\nBesides that it also supports passive TCP connections when no incoming data can be received by the server (No network activity detected by the server)
\nYou can configure the connection via a preferences\/configuration file (properties file). You can also configure the connection via a command line or an EJB Factory.
\nBesides that you also have a “Winsock Bot” and a “Forwarder” tool that you can use to configure what you want. The bot and the forwarder feature is based on the work of Andrew Gooch.
\nThe forwarder tool support connections to either TCP or UDP active listening sockets. The bot and forwarder is limited to the port and the active connection only.
\nDirect Socket Control is written in Java.
\nYou can use it either as stand alone application or you can embed it in an application.
\nAll the TCP sockets are created and deleted in the threads so I had to block a thread while the application is not using the sockets and I did not like to block the main thread because that would make the application unresponsive.
