The application was developed by independent freelance developer Andr\u00e1s Veres in 2006 in Hungary. Over the years, the application has become very popular and has gained many users.<\/p>\n
We had the chance to interview the developer of the application, Andr\u00e1s Veres, and he answers our questions about Open Pandora.<\/p>\n
Alvaro Caballero: Open Pandora is a very interesting project and it\u2019s hard to figure out what\u2019s the philosophy behind it. Can you give us an idea of how was your approach to make Open Pandora? Where was the inspiration for the project?<\/p>\n
Andr\u00e1s Veres: Open Pandora is an experiment in simplicity. I am trying to remove complexity and create a simple desktop application with only basic features such as a browser, grid and a search. I was looking for the simplest way to access Pandora, so it needed to be very simple. I played with the Pandora API from 2003 and 2007 and I created a Pandora plugin in 2009. Then, in 2010, I created Open Pandora.<\/p>\n
Alvaro Caballero: How did you find the support of the Pandora team? What changes have you had to do in order to make a secure and reliable application like Pandora?<\/p>\n
Andr\u00e1s Veres: I have been in direct contact with Pandora engineers. I have sent them my feedback on new features I wanted and they have given me feedback on what was good and what was not. I have been active in the Pandora Plugin forums for a long time, so I have built up many friendly relationships with some of the Pandora engineers. Andr\u00e1s Tinkov<\/p>\n
Alvaro Caballero: I really liked your blog. In your main blog, you also create a page in which you design your future projects. Open Pandora is one of those future projects. Would you mind to expand a little more on your future projects? How many times you will be doing this?<\/p>\n
Andr\u00e1s Veres: I am planning on creating a series of future projects. Each of them will be designed, coded, promoted and eventually released in one month. Most of them will contain basic features, but some of them will have more complex features.<\/p>\n
