Painter Iqbal Hussain grew up in Heera Mandi \u2014 the red light district of the walled city \u2014 where his mother was a tawaif (courtesan)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Iqbal Hussain defies all the bigotry and hostility that generally defines Pakistan. But besides the gastronomic delights, the restaurant \u2014 which he runs with wife Silwat and six children \u2014 is famous for his collection of Hindu, Jain and Buddhist idols.\u00a0<\/font><\/p>\n

Not surprisingly, it attracts visitors from across the world, including India.
