{"id":287881,"date":"2021-11-07T00:49:32","date_gmt":"2021-11-07T00:49:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/yorunoteiou.com\/?p=287881"},"modified":"2021-11-07T00:49:32","modified_gmt":"2021-11-07T00:49:32","slug":"remittance-costs-key-to-take-up-of-salvadoran-bitcoin-plan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/yorunoteiou.com\/?p=287881","title":{"rendered":"Remittance costs key to take-up of Salvadoran bitcoin plan&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><p>By Nelson Renteria and Anthony Esposito<\/p>\n<p>SAN SALVADOR, Aug 24 (Reuters) &#8211; Central American countries are eagerly waiting to see if El Salvador&#8217;s adoption of bitcoin as parallel legal tender cuts the cost of remittances, an important source of income for millions of people, the region&#8217;s development bank said.<\/p>\n<p>President Nayib Bukele&#8217;s congressional allies have already approved legislation giving the cryptocurrency official currency status alongside the U.S.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>dollar, a first in the world.
